SURVEYORS' OPINIONS. Melbourne, May 22. A conference of Surveyors-General decided that the " Commonwealth should undertako a geodetic survey of the continent. It recommended the publishing of an international map of the world on a scale of one-in-a-million, the cost to be shared by the Commonwealth and Dominions, each doing their own work. TO TAKE A LIFETIME. (Received 23, 10.30 a.m.) Sydney, May 23'. The geodetic survey would occupy a generation and cost ljd per square acre. The conference recommended that the Commonwealth authorise the creation of a board of examiners foi surveyors which would be admitted to the reciprocal arrangements existing between tine Australian States and Now Zealand.
