A really enthusiastic audience greeted the new porgramme of pictures at Bernard’s popular amusement house last night, and applause greeted each item. It has often been the case chat travelling dramatic shows arrive acre in Stratford to produce a largely ooomed drama and tlio public usually support a good thing, but when the diow is over 1 they wonder what they anve paid for. This is not the case with the pictures screened at His Majesty’s. The photo plays were very line. “The Cardinal’s Edict” is a very thrilling, dressy, and gorgeous drama. “The Judgment of the Mighty Deep” is without a doubt the most up-to-date scenic drama wo have had the opportunity of witnessing, dealing with an old blind net-maker and bis betrayed daughter. It shows the great instinct that the blind have, . where the net-maker rescues his laughter from a watery grave after uer disappearance with her false lover. The scenic and comic pictures were well up to the standard. To-night the great Irish drama “Rory O’More” will he shown for the first time, and according to the Dominion’s leading press it is a perfect gem of a picture. The photo drama was taken in Ireland and therefore shows to advantage the scenery of Brin’s Isle. The play itself is acted by Kalem’s best performers.
