HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE
Notwithstanding the counter-attrac-tion in the way of. election, Bernards’ received a very good audience tness the change of pictures last nightj when a programme of someWi.nc unusual interest was screened. The chief comic was “Humpty Humpty Circus” of marionettes, which is undoubtedly a very clever picture, showing the comedy parade, entering the tent, the exciting incidents that usually occur at a circus, the wonderful acrobats, wire-walkers, hand-bal-ancers, and every conceivable kind of trained animals, which go through one huge programme of undoubted feats. The clover manipulation is performed by wireless electricity, and it is a picture which should not be missed by anyone. The dramatic portion of the bill was at its best in the photo drama “The Ruling Passion,” which is a very thrilling picture indeed. The rescue by the launch is very realistic. 3ho Indian drama “Seminole’s Sacrifice,” is well to the ..fore with the adventures of the early pioneers and their great fights with their darkskinnea foes. The comic pictures were much above the average, and the laughter continuous at the screening of each picture. The same bill wilt bo repeated this evening, and also on Saturday, when several new films will be introduced—namely, “The Runaway Engine” (drama), “Lakes of Four Cantons” (scenic) and the laughable comedy “A Vacation in Havanna.” »
The management are giving a special matinee performance on Saturday afternoon of “Humpty Humpty Cfircus” at 2.30.
