EGMONT A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
THE HAAVERA SHOAV. A busy staff of workers are now adding the final touches to the showground appointments at the Egmont A. and P. Society’s enclosure, so as to have everything in readiness for the opening of the show on AVednesday next. The list of entries, as compiled hereunder, though not quite up to last year are entirely satisfactory. Rough weather and shortage of grass have been disastrous for getting stock into condition and right down the coast breeders have met with the same experience. The A. and P. Association were unfortunate in that, having made their dates a fortnight earlier, they have struck an exceptionally late season. The list of entries promises to provide an attractive exhibition, and under favourable weather conditions this year’s show will bo a great success. The entry list exclusive of the classes for post entries (together with the figures for the last two years) is as follows:
It will be seen that important sections of the show—cattle, sheep, and horses—compare favourably witli previous years. There will lie splendid competition in some of the chief cattle (notably Jerseys and Ayrshires), and horse sections. Other events are well patronised and a highly spectacular display must be the outcome.
