The House of Commons agreed to the clause giving a wife the option between voluntary insurance at a reduced, rate or discontinuance, in which case she would bo allowed to gradually withdraw two-thirds of the surrender value, one-third being retained to provide, for her possible re-entry as art employed widow. The committee also- decided that aliens resident in the Kingdom for a quinquennium and belonging to an approved society should have the benefit of the State funds. 1 '
