CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. (Per Press Association.) Hastings, October. <l9. There is delightful spring weather for tho second day of tlie show. A heavy shower fell last night but the westerly gale abated, and this morning -was calr.v and fresh. The town is already full of visitors, each train bringing a largo contingent from the country. The following championship awards’ wore made: Draught entire, J. Curtin’s Taieri Prince; draught mare, E. Short’s Hamriston’s Belle jShorthorn hull, Arch. McLean’s Duke of York 10th,_ with Douglas McLean’s Copper King as reserve champion; Shorthorn cow', Arch. McLean’s Duchess of Beaufort 14th with W. T. Williams’ Buttercup 3rd as reserve champion ; Polled Angus bull, F. Armstrong’s Mason ; polled Angus cowq A. S. G. Carlyou’s Clyde; English Leicester ram, Douglas McLean ; English Leicester ewe, Douglas McLean; Romney ram, W. Perry ; Romney cw'e, G. Alien; black Devon boar. Paterson, Mossrnan and Co.
