N.S.W. PARLIAMENT. Sydney, October IS. After three hours’ debate, the Assembly negatived the motion for adjournment to discuss Mr Holman’s action in placing the plan of redistribution of seats before the Electoral Commission. The inference was that Mr Holman desired to influence the Commission in the interest of his pavty. The Premier pointed out that the Commission had asked for suggestions, and that Mr Wade had submitted several. THE SPEAKER AGAIN. MR WOOD DEFIES THE HOUSE. (Receive 19, 9.15 a.m.) Sydney, Octsber 19. In the Assembly;- Mr Wood again collided with the Speaker. He said he declined to bo lectured, and angrily left the Chamber. Mr Willis ordered his return, when Mr Wood took off his coat and challenged the officers of the House to touch him. The police declined to j interfere. Mr Griffith, Minister in Charge of the House, moved his, suspension until he apologised, which was carried by 24 to 12. add industrial unrest under. Mt Lyell (Received 19, 9.15 a.m.) Sydney, October 19. Several Lyell strikers has. arrived in Sydney, "most of whom obtained work immediately. They state that it is practically- certain that a secret ballot would result in the men favouring dropping the attitude regarding the reinstatement of White. FEDERAL PARLIAMENT. Melbourne, October 18. In the House Mr Deakin resumed the debate on the Industrial Arbitration Amendment Bill. He opposed the powers proposed to he given the court, and said they were based on the idea that all industrial conditions were fixed and could be regulated by time-table. This meant separating craft from industry. It would revolutionise or wreck the original Act to make such basic alterations. He moved an amendment that no measure the effect of which would he to concentrate in the hands of any one person the control of all industries m the Continent can bo other than impracticable and fraught with danger to the whole community._ The debate is proceeding.
