COURT RETURNS.

THE SEPTEMBER QUARTER,

On tho civil side in the Magistrate’s Court during the quarter ending September 30th, 167 cases wore tried, the amount sued fcjr being £1532 76s 2d, and the amount recovered £960 17s lOd. There were thirty-two sittings during the quarter, thirteen being presided over by the Magistrate, and nineteen by Justices. Twenty-one distress warrants were issued, thirty judgment summonses were issued, and nine orders wore made on judgment summonses. Tho amount of civil fees paid in stamps totalled £9l 17s. In tho Old-age Pensions Court foi-r pensions were granted, two were refused, and six are pending. On tho criminal side of tho Court 65 males and three females were dealt with, the amount paid in fines totalling £2B ss.
