TIMARU HIGH SCHOOL. (Per Press Association.) Timaru, September 13. r l he High School Board to-day resolved to call tenders for the erection of a new boys’ high school, the rooms to include laboratories for agricultural works. A MEMORIAL WINDOW. Timaru, September 18. Yesterday Bishop Julius dedicated a beautiful window at the east end of St. Mary’s Church in memoriara of tho thirty-five years’ faithful service of Archdeacon Harper and the esteem of his parishioners. WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD. Wanganui, September 18. At a meeting of the Wanganui Education Board to-night, some interesting figui es, culled from departmental statistics regarding the Wanganui district, were given by the chairman (Mr Pirani). Last year £3738 was collected in donations, subscriptions and interest on bequests. No other district could compare with this, Auckland being tho nearest with £3OOO less, whilo Wanganui subscribed nearly half the amounts collected in Now Zealand in foes from technical and district high schools, viz., £1853. Auckland was again next with £IOOB. Competitive designs for a new infants’ school wore received from Feilding, Palmerston, Wellington, Christchurch, and from local men. The design of Mr T. H. Battle, a local architect, was accopted. The new school is to cost £3OOO. The Board is also calling for applications for the principal of the new technical college at a salary of £450. *
