INDUSTRIAL UNREST.
WHEELERS’ STRIKE. (Received 11, 9.0 a.id.) Sydney, September 11. The Wallsend wheelers have declined to accept the miners’ advice to return to work, but will submit their grievances to arbitration. The Employees Federation called a meeting of the Wallsond Lodge, at which a ballot was taken on the question of the minors doing the wheeling. This they refused. A ballot of the whole of the members of the Federation on the subject is now being taken. Should the result be against the minors wheeling, the position will be extremely grave. VARIOUS DISPUTES. (Received 11, 10.30 a.m.) Sydney, September 11. The theatrical employers’ dispute has been settled. The strike of wheat handlers means that ever a million bags stacked in the country will now have to await the disposal of the wool traffic. Perth, September 11. The proprietors of the Collieburn mine, (leelining further concessions to miners, closed down the mine. Owing to a rtiiko of bricklayers in Perth i complete stoppage of building operations is liliolv.
