AT LAST!

THE POWELKA SCARE BEGINS. (Per Press Association.) Palmerston N., September 5. A mysterious fire occurred at Lougburn between 4 and 5 o’clock on Tuesday morning, a four-roomed bouse being destroyed. Tho occupant, named Prousc, had a narrow escape. He says the origin of the fire to him is a mystery. Four horses were put in the paddock on Monday night at the Terraco End gate, and padlocked, the fences being intact. In the morning the horses had disappeared, the gate being stiff padlocked and the fences intact. There was no trace of the horses. IJic district is being searched. It >s though:, tho horses were liberated by someone, or else stolen.
