CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. ARTHUR DUNCAN CHAMPION. (‘Per Press Association.) Wanganui, September 5 The New Zealand golf championship meeting was continued to-day. The weather was somewhat mixed. Jn tho early morning a stiff galo blew' from the westward and a heavy shower fell. About 10.30 the wind veered to the south, but tho latter part of the afternoon was much quieror. Some good golf was again witnessed. Arthur ■ Duncan maintained Jus load in tho open championship, and, playing very consistently, won the coveted tide of champion. His third round was done in 80, and his fourth in 81, the total being 819. J. C, Johnson was three points behind Duncan, but ho played tho best round of tho day, scoring 79 and 77 respectively. Clements was in batter form than on Monday, and put up 81 and 80, bis aggiogate being 826, which was equalled by Stewart, wiio, however, Inst several strokes, his round being S 3 and 85. Wellington’s No. 1 team carrij l off the inter-club challenge vase third and fourth rounds of tho open championship, together with the total for the four rounds:—
