MISTAKEN CLEMENCY.
London, August 31
A lunatic was charged with assaulting a lady. Evidence showed that lie was released from an asylum on Mr Churchill’s order, against, the wishes of the medical superintendent. The magistrate re-committed him, declaring he ought never to have been released.
