The Commonwealth imports for the last financial year amounted to £54,691,004, compared with 54,591,000 for the - previous year. Imports totalled £42,038,317 six years ago. As the tariff lias increased so has the imports. DOUBLE RAILWAY FATALITY. Sydney, July 21. A double railway fatality occurred at Newton station. John Fraser, a ganger, and John Castle, a tettler, were working on the line, when a train dashed into them, killing them instantly. Both were terribly mutilated.
