PROTECTION OF SPORT.
INFLUENTIAL COMMITTEE FORMED. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 18. A meeting was held to-night to arm a New Zealand Sports Protection League. Mr H. D. Bell, K.C., presided. Racing, trotting, football, hockey, golf, tennis, and athletic todies throughout New Zealand were tapresented. Tt was resolved “that this conference of Now Zealand sports organ'rations, realising the necessity for Dfoguaiditig our national sports and pastimes, resolves that a New Zeahmd Sports Protection Association be formed, with branches throughout the Dominion, and that the central board n: control in M ellington, consisting ;f Messrs C. P. Skerrett, K.C., J. Uoates, H. D. Bell, K.C., and the lion. Dr. Collins, M.L.C., be set up' to draft a constitution.”
