HIGH ■COMMISSIONER’S REPORT (Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 10. The High Commissioner cables under -late London, July 7th;— The mutton market is quiet, with small business doing. The stocks of lamb on hand are heavy, but a fair demand continues. The market is a shade weaker. The beef market is depressed on account of the supplies of American chilled beef being large. The butter market remains firm. Choicest New Zealand butter 108 s (stock is exhausted), Danish 115 s, Siberian 102 a, Australian 103 s. Tiie cheese market is steady, with a very good demand. The shipment of cheese ox Taiuui arrived in good condition. Now Zealand white 60s, coloured 61s. The hemp market is very quiet, with nothing doing. The wool market is quiet but firm at last quotations—3 G’s, low crossbreds, Is lid; -J.O’s, low crossbreds, is 2RI; 44’s medium crossbreds, Is 3d; 50’s, halfbreds, Is G;}d; 56’s, quarter-breds Is Did; 60 : s, merinos, 2s 2id. SHEFFIELD CHOIR. (Per Pi’ess Association.) Dunedin, July 10. The gross takings iu Dunedin by the Sheffield Choir at throe concerts and a matinee were £2260.
