The annual meeting of the Now Zealand Football Association was held tonight. The chairman (Mr Jf. X. Holmes) spoke hopefully of the progress of the Association and increasing popularity of the game. There were now 225 team? playing under the auspices of the At sociation.
The following office-bearers were elected Patron, Lord Islington; president, Sir Joseph Ward; vice-presidents, Messrs F. J. Courtenay, S. W. Thornton and P. L. Davies, with two from each affiliated association; trustees, Messrs H. X, Mobncs, F. J. Courtenay and J. J. Roberts; lion, treasurer, J. M. Olliver; hon. sec., Mr. 13. L. Salmon; hon. representative to tlie Football Association, Limited, Mr. A. E. Gibbs (London); hon. auditor. Mr. A. G. Barnett., The offer of Mesrs Pettit and Dudley, of Palmerston North, to present a cup of the value of ten guineas for competition under the “Cup Tie 1 ’ rules was accepted, the tropfiy to be called the “New Zealand Football Cup Competition,” to commence this year if possible, and the final to bo played at Palmerston if convenient. The question of the New South Wales tour was left in the hands of the council.
Tt was decided to cable to the South Wales Association asking if it is prepared to send a team to New Zealand this year.
