Strang, president of the Invercargill Golf Club, who convened the meeting, presided over* representatives of most of the clubs in the province. After the opinions of those present had been expressed, a committee was appointed to make further inquiries and to communicate with the New Zealand Golf Association. The committee comprises Messrs Strang, A. G. Seddon, O. G. Gilmour and G. E. Glennie. It was pointed out that some of the smaller clubs were not affiliated with the New Zealand Association, and it was felt that until they were they would not be eligible to join a Southland association. This is one of the points that has to be clarified. .
