MEDICAL BURSARIES

MORE TO BE AWARDED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, December 16. “The Government has decided to award further medical and dental bursaries in 1945 to selected students undertaking the medical or dental course in the University of New Zealand,” said the Minister of Health, Mr Nordmeyer. The bursaries will be of a value of £7O per annum, with an additional £4O per annum by way of boarding allowance where the bursar is obliged to live away from home or his usual place of residence. They will be tenable for a period of up to five years, their renewal from year to year being subject in each case to satisfactory reports by the university authorities. Applications for bursaries close on January 29. Application forms and details of the conditions of the award may be obtained from the DirectorGeneral of Health, Wellington, or from any district health office. Applications will be received from students of both sexes who are about to begin the first year of the course and students who have already completed portion of the course.
