Presentation Of Trophies
There was a fair attendance of members at a function held by the Southland Wrestling Club last night. The chairman, Mr H. R. Willcox, presented certificates and trophies to the winners o’f the championships. In appreciation of the service given to the club during the past few years by the secretary, Mr W. J. Macgregor, and his wife, the chairman presented a wall-mirror to Mr Macgregor. - The chairman and many members of the club praised the work of the secretary. Mr Macgregor replied. Items were given by Messrs W. Frampton and A. Inkster. The accompanist was Mr A. K. Smith. The following toast list was honoured: Absent Friends (Mr Willcox); The Instructors (Mr C. Race—Messrs W. Riley, L. Frampton and L. Johnston); The Wrestling Association (Mr G. Parry—Mr Willcox); The Southland Wrestling Club (Mr N. Johnston—Mr W. J. Macgregor); Kindred Clubs (Mr Macgregor—Messrs F. Johnston, R. Sutton, C. Race and L. Braithwaite); The Referee (Mr Willcox—Mr Parry); The Press (Mr Willcox); The Performers (Mr W. Riley).
