NATIONAL SAVINGS MAINTAINED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 12. Notwithstanding many recent calls upon their resources, National Savings depositors maintain commendable regularity and generosity in contributions to National Savings accounts. Last week 255 towns, including all the provincial centres, flew their National Savings flags, evidence of having attained their quotas. National Savings are used solely for war purposes and knowledge of this fact explains the determination of national savers to save to the utmost. The latest figures available show a total of 294,508 depositors, including 115,580 group depositors (7505 groups), most, of whom are contributing with regular deductions from wages or salaries.
