FINAL RACE AND POLO NIGHT

Good Swimming At Tepid Baths The fourth and last of the Southland Swimming Centre’s race and polo nights was held in the Tepid Baths last night. The swimming was of a good standard and in many of the events exciting finishes were staged. All the cup and trophy series, with the exception of the Holloway and Jones Cups, was completed last night and the results were announced at the end of the programme. At the next three carnivals on November 24 and December 9 and 17 the Southland junior, intermediate ana women’s championships will be held. A fresh series of carnival nights will be started after Christmas. Some good times were registered last night and many of the swimmers showed much-improved form. Mr A. J. Kingsland was starter.
