GOOD STRIKES IN GORE DISTRICT
PRODUCTION OF LINEN FLAX
Crops of linen flax sown early in the Gore district have made excellent progress, and where areas have been inspected by officers of the Department of Agriculture, strikes have been good, some crops being as much as three inches high. Farmers appear to have shown a great deal of interest in their work and where crops have been sown they have worked the land well. A fair area is still to be sown in the district, however, and farmers are advised to carry out the work within the next week. Rain has interfered with the sowing in many instances, but it is suggested by officers of the department that crops should be put down as soon as possible.
