FRIESIAN COW’S HIGH TEST

A Friesian cow, Awarima Princess Dellhurst 6th, bred and owned by Messrs Royds and Williams, Five Rivers, has this month completed the year’s C.O.R. test with the unusually high average test of 4.88 per cent. Her production of milk was 10,4881bs with 5121bs fat. It is not surprising that this cow should have a high test because her sire Fendalton Netherland Pietertje has a full-sister, with a record of 6021bs fat in 333 days with an average test of 4.9 per cent. This bull has other daughters with high tests up to 4.9 per cent, under G.O.H.T. The dam of this great cow was also a good producer and she has a C.O.R. record, made at Five Rivers on non-dairying country of 16,6691bs milk and 6841 b fat, with a test of 4.1 per cent.
