IN A CONVALESCENT CAMP

SERGEANT J. D. HINTON, V.C. Advice that her son, Sergeant J. D. Hinton, V.C., who is a prisoner of war, is now in a convalescent camp and is safe and well, has been received by his mother, Mrs H. G. Hinton, of Colac Bay. Yesterday she received a letter from Miss Judy Plimmer, Wellington, stating that her brother, Harry Plimmer, was a companion of Sergeant Elinton and was in a convalescent camp. Miss Plimmer received word from her brother stating that Sergeant Hinton had been recommended for the Victoria Cross. She was very pleased to see the announcement of the award and congratulated Mrs Hinton on her son’s achievement.
