FIRST SALE AT ART EXHIBITION

The first sale at the exhibition of paintings by New Zealand artists now being held in Invercargill was made on Thursday. The picture sold was a water colour by L. Henderson and shows a view from the Sign of the Kiwi, Cashmere Hills, Christchurch. The picture was bought by an Invercargill resident. Several pictures in the exhibition have been sold in other’ centres, but this was the first sold since the exhibition was opened in Invercargill last Monday. The proceeds from the sale of the pictures are to go to the patriotic fund.
