MEMORIAL TO LATE MR SAVAGE
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 20. Awards in the competition for designs for the memorial at Bastion Point, Auckland, to the late Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage were announced by the Hon. W. E. Parry. The first prize of £l5O goes to Messrs Donner and Bartlett, Auckland; the second, of £lOO, to Mr W. J. Beech, Karori, Wellington; and the third, of £3O, to Mr John Blake Kelly, Auckland. The memorial was to take the form of a park and garden of remembrance, said Mr Parry, with a simple monument of a symbolic character over the tomb.
