CAMPING GROUND IN INVERCARGILL

“Although the Invercargill camping ground is well situated and is favourably spoken of in the north, it lacks the' facilities of many of the northern camps,” stated Mr S. C. K. Smith at a meeting of the Automobile Association (Southland) last night. “Hot water and showers are essential and if these facilities are provided it will bring the city’s camping ground into line with those in the north.” It was decided that the chairman of the Road Traffic and Camp Committee, Mr F. G. O’Beirne, should confer with Mr A. C. Ford about the possibilities of extending the building to provide for showers and other conveniences and obtain an estimate of the cost.
