WOMAN REACHES AGE OF 102

(United Press Association) HAWERA, February 7. Today Miss Sophia Ginger, of Hawera, attained her 102nd birthday. Amazingly fit and active, she still reads, writes and plays cards three nights a week. Though she docs not rise until noon, she stays up till 10 p.m. She has spent 90 years in the Taranaki province and can recount thrilling pioneering memories. Asked to what she attributed her great age, she replied: “I did not lead a reckless life, which might be the reason.”
