SOLDIERS BIDDEN FAREWELL

PRESENTATIONS MADE AT OREPUKI On Tuesday evening the Returned Soldiers’ Association Club Rooms were well filled when residents of Orepuki and surrounding districts met to bid farewell to Messrs F. Coote, O. Kelly and N. Dudfield, who are going into camp. The evening was spent in dancing, and items were given by Mrs H. T. Simpson (solo), J. Shepherd (solo), E. Carroll (tap dance), M. Fraser (solo), G. Fraser (pianoforte solo), P. Driver (solo) and C. Smith (solo), C. N. Whelan (solo). The guests of honour were each presented with a parcel containing money belt, socks and scarf by Mr F. H. Shepherd. Other speakers were Mr R. Lee (sporting bodies), Mr E. J. Deir (residents) and C. McKeown (business people). The three men replied.
