MISSIONARY WORK AT OREPUKI
On a recent afternoon Mr Martin presided over 14 members at the annual meeting of the Orepuki Presbyterian Missionary branch. Apologies were received from Mesdames Garden and McLean. Over 1000 used stamps had been collected and cleaned, by the stamp secretary and sent away to help mission funds. Members decided to dispense with afternoon tea, and to increase the monthly subscription to 1/-, to assist in the Retrenchment Funds. It was also decided to allocate £l5/10/- to be equally divided between Home and Foreign Missions. The officers were thanked by Mr Martin who spoke in appreciation of the work done during the year. The office-bearers elected for the ensuing year were: President, Mrs Martin; vice-president, Mrs T. Brown; secretary, Mrs C. Fraser; treasurer, Mrs E. J. Weir; harvest field secretary, Mrs A. King; missions, Miss E. Barnett; stamp secretary, Mrs Cowan; Maori mission birthday league secretary, Mrs C. Fraser.
