SPECIAL ATTRACTION FOR SHOW
ELABORATE DISPLAY IN PREPARATION
A special attraction at the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s winter show which opens at the Drill Hall, Invercargill, on May 9, will be an elaborate display of needlework and artcraft which is being organized by the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union and the Invercargill Women’s Institute, in collaboration. It is hoped also to have at the show a display of needlework and artcraft which is now at the Centennial Exhibition.
An announcement was made yesterday by the secretary of the association, Mr A. L. Adamson, that a coffee stall will be provided, for which David Strang Ltd. will supply the coffee and D. Kingsland and Sons, the biscuits, free. The stall will be in charge of the women’s section of the Metropolitan Patriotic Committee and will be staffed by members of the sub-com-mittees.
Representatives of Herbert, Haynes and Co. Ltd., Thomson and Beattie, Limited and H. and J. Smith Limited, who have offered to decorate the hall free of charge, visited the hall yesterday in company with representatives of the Patriotic Committee and discussed plans for a scheme of decoration.
