BLUFF NEWS

RAILWAY OFFICER BIDDEN FAREWELL

A presentation was made to Mr A. Auld, of the Bluff railway staff, before his departure for Ashburton. The stationmaster, Mr L. E. B. Edwards, in making the presentation, referred to Mr Auld’s capabilities and efficiency and congratulated him on his promotion. Other included Messrs W. G. Fisher (senior clerk), David Downes (shipping clerk), H. Jamieson, J. Butterfield and R. W. J. Trussler. Mr Auld replied.

Mi- Auld was also presented with i bowling case from the members of the Bluff Bowling Club. The president, Mr H. Jamieson, made the presentation and spoke of the fine sportsmanship of Mr Auld. The club would be losing a valuable player. A presentation was made to Mrs Auld by Mrs Perkins, on behalf of the Ladies’ Bowling Club.
