CLOSING DAY AND ANNUAL MEETING
The closing day of the Invercargill Ladies’ Golf Club was held at Otatara yesterday when a four-ball bogey match was played in the morning and a putting competition held in the afternoon. The best four-ball bogey scores were: Mrs O. G. Gilmour and Miss M. Gardner, 6 up; Mrs F. M. Corkill and Miss P. Pilcher, 3 up; Mrs J. D. Speirs and Miss M. Stout, 2 up; Mrs F. G. HallJones and Miss M. McCallum, 1 up; Mrs W. E. Hazlett and Miss N. Gilkison, 1 up; Mrs S. R. Lowden and Miss D. McCallum, all square. The putting competition was won by Mrs J. D. Strettell.

F. Williams. The presentation of prizes was followed by the annual general meeting with a record attendance. The chair was taken by the president. It was decided to hold the Southland championships early in April and the club championships on three days at the end of October or early in November. It was resolved to dispense with qualifying rounds for the club championships. A proposal to hold a bridge drive in the clubhouse as a means of raising extra funds was adopted. The following office-bearers were elected: President, Mrs C. C. Anderson (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mrs B. W. Hewat (re-elected) and Mrs J. A. Pottinger; captain, Mrs F. G. HallJones (re-elected); deputy captain, Mrs J. D. Speirs (re-elected); secretary and treasurer, Miss M. McCallum (reelected); committee, Mrs O. G. Gilmour, Mrs F. M. Corkill,. Mrs A. C. Ford and Miss M. Hamilton. INVERCARGILL CLUB A teams match for the G. R. Hanan Trophy will be played at Otatara tomorrow: Each team consists of four players, the team with, the lowest aggregate being the winner. An unofficial medal match will be played in conjunction.
