TODAY’S RECIPE

PRUNE PIE I cup milk. 3 tablespoons cornflour. 1 egg. Pastry. i cup (4oz) sugar. i teaspoon salt. 1 cup prunes. . t 1- pint cream whipped with 2 tablespoons sugar and i teaspoon vanilla.

Li?ie pie plate with pastry Flute edges. Bake 12 minutes at 450 to 500 degrees F. Allow to cool. Soak prunes 24 hours. Cook, stone and drain. Chop finely. Mix cornflour, salt and sugar together and mix with milk. Boil five minutes. Add egg and prunes and cook over hot water till all ingredients are well cooked and blended. Allow to cool. When nearly cold pile into shell. Serve cold with whipped cream piled on top. Garnish with cherries and finelychopped walnuts or almonds. SARAH.
