GIFT EVENING AT LONGBUSH

MR AND MRS KEITH WALKER GUESTS OF HONOUR

Mr and Mrs K. Walker, who were recently married, were entertained by the residents of Longbush and friends at a gift evening. The music for dancing was supplied by Mrs G. Brown, and extras were played by Mr J. P. Phillips. Messrs J. Cliene and D. McKenzie were masters of ceremonies.

Items were given by Messrs J. Martin and G. Toogood (harmonica duet), Mr L. Walker (steel guitar) , z Messrs Duff (banjo-mandolin), and Mr J. Waddell (bagpipe selections and tap dances). At the supper interval, Mrs Elliot on behalf of those present asked Miand Mrs Walker to accept the beautiful array of gifts, together with best wishes for their future happiness. Cook and Miss Ula Cook were guests at a farewell evening in the Wallacetown Hall, before their departure to Invercargill. On behalf of the residents of Wallacetown Mr G. E. McAhan presented Mr and Mrs Cook with a dinner set and crystal vase and Miss U. Cook with a gold bangle. Mr Cook replied. Other speakers were Messrs A. Fraser and B. Paddon. Mr A. Jackson was master of ceremonies. Among those present were Mr and Mrs W. Cook, Mr and Mrs Burgess, Mr and Mrs Milne (Wyndham), Mr and Mrs A. Fraser, Mr and Mrs J.
