PRESENTATION AT COURT
SOUTHLAND DEBUTANTE The presentation of Miss Mollie Rogers, daughter of Dr J. E. Rogers and Mrs Rogers, of Gore, at Buckingham Palace is described by Miss Joyce Gilmour, writing from London on July 13. Miss Gilmour wrote: The King and Queen held the Fourth Court of the year at Buckingham Palace last evening, and among the debutantes presented to their Majesties was Miss Mollie Rogers, daughter of Dr J. E. Rogers and Mrs Rogers, of Gore. The King wore the full-dress uniform of Colonel-in-Chief of the Irish Guards, and the Queen’s gown was of white satin, the skirt trimmed with bands of gold lame and'golden lace. Her Court train was of gold lame embroidered with gold and pearl paillettes and banded with guipure lace. The blue ribbon of the Garter was arranged across the corsage, and her Majesty s jewels included the Koh-i-noor diamond. In the Royal circle were the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, ViceAdmiral the Hon. Sir Alexander Ramsay and Lady Patricia Ramsay and Lady Maud Carnegie. Mrs W. J. Jordan (wife of the High Commissioner for New Zealand) who presented Miss Rogers, wore a picture gown of delphinium blue lace and taffetas. Her train was of blue taffetas with ruchings of the same material. Miss Rogers wore a gown of cornflower blue chiffon. The Empire bodice was closely ruched and was supported by finely-plaited shoulder straps. The skirt was full and flowing. Her train of the same material was lined with pale pink chiffon and it, too, was ruched. She carried a bouquet of pale pink roses and lily-of the valley. She also wore a rope of pearls and a diamond and pearl brooch.
