ARABS REFUSE TO GIVE UP ARMS

BODY OF REBEL POET FOUND (Received October 28, 7.50 p.m.) JERUSALEM, October 27. After blowing up half a dozen houses at Miar the authorities indicated that punishment would cease if 10 rifles were surrendered within an hour, but they were not forthcoming.. The Arab leader threatened that if there was more damage he would lead 800 men to the attack. Battalions of the Royal Kents and the Irish Fusiliers found and surrounded a large body of rebels in a cave. The body of the well-known Arab poet and rebel leader, Ibrahim Abdullah, was found at Tamra. Nearby were three rifles, two pistols, a banner, and important documents. It is presumed that he was killed in the mopping-up operations east of Haifa on Monday.
