NEW DISTRICT ROTARY GOVERNOR
FORMER MAYOR OF AUCKLAND (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, February 25. Mr George W. Hutchison, a former Mayor of Auckland, was selected by the National Rotary Conference today as the new District Governor for the New Zealand (53rd) District Rotary International in succession to Mr F. G. Hall-Jones, of Invercargill. Mr Hutchison’s name will be submitted to the Rotary International. Mr Hutchison was a foundation member of the Auckland Rotary Club in 1921 and was president from 1928 to 1929. He is C.M.G. and Chevalier of the Legion of Honour, France. An invitation was extended by the Napier Club to hold the next national conference at Napier. The conference concluded today with addresses by Messrs P. Stanley Foster (Christchurch), H. Guthrie (Dunedin), James Hogg (Dunedin) and the Rev. H. W. Newell (Wellington), and the Rev. A. C. Watson (Christchurch). The Colty Cup for attendance at the conference was presented to the Auck- I land Rotary. Club. ’
