CHILDREN’S PICNIC The annual Mataura Returned Soldiers’ children’s Christmas party was held at Wairarua this year. The billy was boiled and races were run during the afternoon. An interesting event was the appearance of Father Christmas, riding a white horse and loaded with toys which were distributed to the children. The results of the races were: Girls, 5 to 6.—A.
