LAWN TENNIS CHALLENGERS PLAYED In a challenge for second position on the Wyndham men’s ladder, C. H. Baird (challenger) was defeated by C. A. Sharp, 6-2, 6-2. the winner being on top form all through the match. His forehand driving was devastating. He stayed on the baseline for the most part, and when Baird attempted to come into net Sharp passed him with hard side-line shots. R. D. Gibson (challenger) defeated H. Mackley, 9-5; C. G. Davey defeated I. A. Strang (challenger), 9-8; Miss L. J. Rice (challenger) defeated Mrs E. S. Macfarlane, 9-7; Mrs D. O. McCaughan defeated Miss Grace Gaw (challenger), 7-1.
