RECORDS OF ROYAL TOUR IN 1901

SELECTION TO BE PRESENTED BY QUEEN MARY LONDON, December 9. Queen Mary has advised the New Zealand and Australian High Commissioners that while sifting a mass of documents in the Windsor Castle Library relating to the reign of Kling George, she discovered numerous records and books concerning particularly the Dominions tour of 1901. She considered that it would be more fitting if they were placed in safe keeping in the New Zealand and Australian archives and she intended to make a selection to present to the Governments.

Mr W. J. Jordan has already been advised by her Majesty that New Zealand would receive a large selection, including a Maori comparative dictionary with Queen Mary’s signature on the fly-leaf, and an old book on New Zealand edited by Lord Pembroke with the Duchess of York’s bookplate.
