FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE
HEAVY LOSSES IN BELGIUM BRUSSELS, December 9. Livestock losses from foot-and-mouth disease are estimated at £2,000,000. Agricultural members of Parliament urge the Government to compensate owners and also to grant financial credits to the worst sufferers. FARMS INFECTED IN FRANCE PARIS, December 9. Foot-and-mouth disease is raging throughout France and in the basin of the Rhine province alone 9888 farms and 43,318 cattle are infected. The total losses amount to £533,000.
