OBITUARY

DR H. D. HAYES (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, November 1. News has been telegraphed here of the death in Hanmer hospital yesterday of Dr H. D. Hayes, aged 38 years, medical superintendent of the Seacliff mental hospital. He was born and educated in Edinburgh. His career was interrupted by the war, in which he served with the Royal Air Force. Later he was associated with the London County Council Mental Hospital Service. He came to New Zealand in 1927 as superintendent at Porirua and was later at the Nelson and Hokitika mental hospitals, coming to Seacliff five years ago. He had a serious illness in 1930 from which he never fully recovered. The final illness attacked him six weeks ago. Dr Hayes leaves a wife and three children. MR A. P. WILSON (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 1. The death has occurred of the veteran Auckland architect, Mr Arthur Pollard Wilson, aged 85 years.
