TRAVELLER’S CAREER OF LAWLESSNESS MELBOURNE, October 19. For the third time in his criminal career, which dates back to 1904, Frederick Lane, aged 49, a traveller, was declared by Judge White, in the quarter sessions, to be a habitual criminal. In 1916 at Wellington, New Zealand, Lane was declared a habitual criminal and in 1923 at the same place he was again declared a habitual criminal. The following year he escaped from gaol. _
