SUPERANNUATION SCHEME

POWER BOARD EMPLOYEES (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 15. One of the chief matters discussed at the conference of secretaries of power boards and supply authorities was the formulation of a scheme of superannuation for board employees and a recommendation was made to the main association at its conference today: (a) That legislation should be enacted making it obligatory on all power boards to provide for their employees by subscribing to the National Provident Fund, where no other fund is established. (b) That the Government should be requested to pass legislation making legal as far as the existing contributors are concerned, payments by boards towards insurance or pension schemes already adopted by them. There was full agreement as to clause (b) and clause (a) was referred to the committee to report further to the executive of the association, which was authorized to proceed in the matter.
