WAIPAPA BEACH (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, March 6. The Waipapa Beach return was 6oz 18dwt for 105 hours’ work. MOSSY CREEK (United Press Association) GREYMOUTH, March 7. The Mossy Creek return was 21oz Bdwt for 134 hours’ work and 9000 yards. SKIPPERS LIMITED The secretary of Skippers, Ltd., reports as follows:— Since the last paddock was completed in January for the return of 87 ounces, the work of preparing further ground has slowly but steadily been carried on. The weather has been against us, but the river has generally been at a lower level than for the previous months. A considerable area of beach has been cleared in the vicinity of Laroux’s rock, and a new paddock was started 60 yards downstream after this rock had been blown away with the hydrant. This paddock is now down to bottom. As the recent heavy rains have greatly improved our water supply, better progress should be made to complete the first section, and an early wash-up can be expected. It is hoped that the rest of the cleared ground wil be worked by using the hydro power, which will soon be available. This will allow of much faster working, and instead of working only about four hours a day, the full 24 hours can be worked in the paddock as long as river conditions allow. dairylproduce LONDON MARKETS A.
