REMOVAL OF TRADE BARRIERS
AN INTERNATIONAL PLAN. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Paris, October 18. The Council of the International Chamber of Commerce, after a meeting at which Sir Alan Anderson, M.P., honorary president, was present, accepted a plan of 13 points aiming at the gradual removal of trade restrictions and high Customs barriers, as a sequel to the monetary agreement among Britain, France and U.S.A. The main recommendations include the conclusion of multilateral agreements, open to all-comers and stimulating international trade, pending which bilateral treaties should be used to demolish barriers. The plan also urges the leading Powers to declare jointly for the avoidance of currency depreciation as an instrument of international trade competition and the elimination of seasonal variations in the value of currencies.
