YOUNG WOMAN’S DEATH BY DROWNING
OPEN VERDICT RETURNED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.10 p.m.) Sydney, October 19. At the inquest into the death of Miss Constance Mcßae the Coroner returned an open verdict. He said that there was no evidence to show how she got into the water, and there appeared to be only two solutions: either she had cast herself overboard or had fallen from the vessel. Very little had been adduced one way or the other, and the matter was largely one of opinion. Mystery surrounded the death by drowning o£ a wealthy young woman, Miss onstance Mcßae, whose body, clad in most expensive farments, was discovered on the beach near the Sydney Heads on September 27. The police established that Miss Mcßae, who was 27 years of age. had just returned from a trip to Japan and had disappeared from the China steamer Tanda, which left late on the night of September 2G on the continuation of its voyage to Melbourne, where Miss Mcßae resided.
