Association Football. The draw for Saturday is as follows: The 8.8. Old Boys will play Corinthians Juniors; the 2nd Company will meet the 3rd company; the sths have a bye. Both games will be played at the Showgrounds at 1.45 p.m. Good Work.

The Dominion executive thanks all those members of companies and friends who subscribed to the 8.8. Week collection this year. Since the scheme was inaugurated, it has proved a great benefit to many companies, and has enabled the brigade to carry on extensive work in districts where no companies existed. This could not have been done without assistance which has been obtained in this way.

“Forty Years On.” This is the title of a famous school song. The boys at Harrow, as they sing it, look forty years ahead. Not a bad thing for all of us to do sometimes. What will you be like forty years on? I don’t mean in appearance. I can’t guess that. Some of you may be sixteen stone in weight. You may have grown a walrus moustache, or even a flowing beard! And you may have no hair on the top of your head. After all that doesn’t matter much. But what kind of men are you going to be? What you will be depends on what you are now. To-day counts. The 8.8. is trying to help you to develop “habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, selfrespect, and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.” If you put your best into it, you need not worry about what you will be forty years on. And if you learn to make Christ your Captain now, you will still be in His company after forty years. Don’t miss your chance.
